Limited Collector Series

The Limited Collector Series is a special release of framed prints by regional artists Dan Tackett and Steve Babbitt. Community members can donate to the Rapid City Arts Council at a designated level to receive the print of their choice. Donations support exhibitions, arts education, and community programming by the Rapid City Arts Council at the Dahl Arts Center.
Dan Tackett
After retiring from medicine in 2020, Dan Tackett began to concentrate fully on his artistic endeavors. He is best known for his fine art photography, digital giclée prints, and stained glass installations. Tackett has had exhibitions at Prairie Edge, the University of Central Oklahoma, and a solo show at the South Dakota Art Museum. His work has also been included in several SD Governor’s Biennial Exhibitions.
Steve Babbitt
Steve Babbitt is an artist, teacher, fine art and architectural photographer. His art often focuses on the abstract quality of the natural world and the awkward and humorous way humans and nature coexist. Babbitt was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area and currently lives in the wide-open spaces of Utah. He earned a BFA and MFA in photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and was a university professor of photography for over 25 years. Now he teaches private photography workshops primarily in Southern Utah.
His photographs can be found in the permanent collections of The Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; the Getty Museum Library; the San Francisco Art Institute; Yosemite National Park; South Dakota Art Museum; Lessedra Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria; University of South Dakota; University of North Dakota, and the Dahl Art Center in Rapid City, South Dakota.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE RAPID CITY ARTS COUNCIL

The Rapid City Arts Council staff and Board of Directors thanks the City of Rapid City for continuously supporting our mission and the arts. The generosity of our many volunteers, donors, and members drives our mission to champion inclusive, innovative and inspiring arts opportunities to enrich the communities we serve.  Additional support comes from the South Dakota Community Foundation, Black Hills Area Community Foundation, and the South Dakota Arts Council with funds from the State of South Dakota through the Department of Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Dahl Arts Center is a municipal facility of the City of Rapid City and is managed by the Rapid City Arts Council on behalf of the Rapid City community.
