Exhibition Featuring Rising Teen Artist Coming to the Dahl Arts Center RAPID CITY, SD – Rapid City teen artist Santana L. Twiss, will be featured in an upcoming Emerging Visual Artists (EVA) exhibition at the Dahl Arts Center. Twiss’ show is set to open on July 29 and will be on display in the Dahl’s Bruce H. Lien Cultural Café & Gallery through September 26, 2024. A reception and meet-and-greet with the artist will be held on Thursday, August 1 from 5-7pm. A passionate indigenous artist, Twiss, works with gouache, colored pencils, and other mediums, aiming to spread her art throughout the community and beyond. Through this exhibit, Twiss explores the theme of cultural identity. Her work has been featured in several local and regional art contests and an all-state competition. "I create artwork based on my culture. I believe it is important to maintain a sense of my cultural heritage and the stories that come with it. I would like for my art to show that I have a passion for such," said Santana Twiss. EVA, a program of the Rapid City Arts Council, offers visual artists an opportunity to exhibit their work in a gallery for the first time. Twiss was selected for the EVA program for her exceptional talent and dedication to preserving her cultural heritage through art.
