Winter Art Camps Bring Creative Fun for Kids This Winter Break at the Dahl Arts Center RAPID CITY, SD – The Rapid City Arts Council (RCAC) is delighted to announce two Winter Camps happening at the Dahl Arts Center this December. Young artists are invited to join two exciting winter-themed day camps, designed to inspire creativity, self-expression, and artistic growth. The Winter Camps, scheduled for December 23 and 30, offer children the chance to engage in hands-on art activities, make new friends, and explore their creativity in a cozy, supportive environment. Color Wheel Cookie Camp December 23 | 9am – 3pm The Color Wheel Cookie Camp is a colorful adventure where kids grade 1-6, dressed in their cozy winter pajamas, will dive into the basics of color theory while decorating color-wheel cookies and creating art. Through fun, hands-on activities, campers will learn new skills, experiment with color, and express themselves in a deliciously creative way. In addition to painting, campers will have the chance to decorate cookies to take home. This camp is the perfect way for kids to express their individuality and creativity while celebrating the winter season. Winter Pajama Paint Party December 30 | 9am – 3pm Get cozy and join us for a day of painting fun at the Winter Pajama Paint Party! Campers, grades 3-6, will create snowy landscapes and self-portraits as snowpeople, all while sipping hot cocoa and listening to festive winter tunes. With guidance from friendly instructors and Teen Art Studio volunteers, kids will explore winter-themed art projects and develop new painting techniques in a relaxing and creative environment. The Winter Pajama Paint Party is an unforgettable way for young artists to celebrate winter and express themselves through vibrant, colorful art. Both camps are designed to foster creativity, develop artistic skills, and create memorable experiences for young artists. Space is limited, and registration is now open for both camps at rapidcityartscouncil.org/winterartcamps. Generous support from donors such as the Gwendolyn L. Stearn Foundation, the John T. Vucurevich Foundation, and individual donorsenables RCAC to provide affordable high-quality educational experiences in the arts for more than 2,000 Rapid City youth each year.
