Saturday Art Adventure

The whole family is invited to create and explore art together. Join us in the Art Start Studio to create using the Wolakota Learning Method, inspired by the Lakota concept of Wolakota, which encompasses harmony, balance, peace, and respect for self, others, and the natural world. It emphasizes teaching and learning that are rooted in Lakota cultural values, focusing on fostering relationships, understanding, and community connections.

Winter Art Camp
​January 21 | 9am-3pm

Join us for a magical day of creativity as young artists, grades 1-6, design their own winter wonderland in a handmade snow globe! Campers will sketch, build, and decorate their dioramas using materials like cotton, natural elements, and small figurines, bringing their unique winter scenes to life. The day includes fun activities, storytelling, and a mini gallery walk to showcase their creations. Let your child's imagination sparkle this winter—sign up now!

Opening Reception: Wayfinder

Wayfinder is a compelling exhibition at the Dahl Arts Center, presented by the Rapid City Arts Council & Big Read Rapid City. Inspired by Andrew Krivak’s novel, The Bear, the exhibit delves into themes of navigation, guidance, and the universal quest for meaning. It celebrates the resilience of the human spirit, the profound connection between humanity and nature, and the shared journey of finding one’s path in an ever-changing world.

EPA Spotlight

Join us as we celebrate the heart and soul of live music! The free EPA Spotlight showcases the magic of live music and its ability to bring people together. This month, we’re focusing on the vibrant energy and shared experiences that only live performances can create.

Live music has the power to inspire, uplift, and unite audiences in unforgettable ways. From intimate acoustic sets to electrifying concerts, these moments showcase the beauty of connection through sound.

Mom's Unhinged
​February 13 | 4 & 7pm

Join us for a night of laughter as we explore everything from motherhood, midlife crisis, marriage, divorce, online dating, and other things that irritate us. Men are welcome to the show, too. Moms Unhinged has been selling out shows all over the country and is coming for two special performances.

We do clean (ish) comedy and this is a fun night out with your girlfriends, drinking club (I mean book club), neighborhood group or your own mom.

Cowboy Culture Dakota Style
at the Dahl

Saddle up for an unforgettable evening of cowboy poetry and music, brought to you by South Dakota’s finest cowboys and cowgirls. For one night only, experience the spirit of the West with a historic celebration of storytelling, song, and culture.

Featuring some of the best cowboy poets and musicians in the country: Paul Larson, Chet Murray, Kenny Putnam, Jami Lynn, Eliza Blue, Bodhi Linde, Shiloh Hewitt, Yvonne Hollenbeck, Ken Cook, Bonnie Krogman, and Robert Dennis.

A Night of Healing
with the Pine Ridge Flute Society

 Join us in a night of healing and perspective as we enjoy readings from the Book by Andrew Krivak's The Bear, which will be accompanied by Pine Ridge High Schools Flute Society. Immerse yourself in the healing waters of sound and voice on Feb. 27th at the Dahl Arts Center. 5:30pm doors; 6pm start time.
