Volunteers are the heart and soul of the RCAC. This group of dedicated and passionate volunteers provides vital support at the Dahl Arts Center and in the community while working with RCAC staff and visitors in an energizing and inspiring environment.

It is impossible to do what we do without the support of a dedicated group of people who choose to donate their time and energy.

Consider volunteering for the RCAC! It's a great way to connect with like-minded people, get a behind-the-scenes look at the Dahl, and you don't need to have a background in the arts to be involved!
  • We are looking for people of all ages and interests.
  • Opportunities are made to suit your schedule and your skills.
  • No previous experience is required. However, you must be enthusiastic, flexible, and willing to learn new things.
  • Training is provided.

Opportunities include:
  • Provide an enriching experience and make guests feel welcome as exhibit and events support.
  • Growing lifelong supporters of the arts by engaging with children and families during special events and school tours.
  • Introduce visitors to the work of over 80 diverse local artists while assisting in our Gift Shop.
  • Work directly with Arts Council staff to promote our programming and we always have filing and data entry that we need help with!

On behalf of the Rapid City Arts Council, the Dahl staff, Board of Directors, and our volunteers, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and thank the City of Rapid City for their ongoing support of our organization. It is because of support like this that we are able to continue to fulfill our mission to champion inclusive, innovative and inspired arts opportunities to enrich the communities we serve.

The Rapid City Arts Council receives support from generous members and donors, the City of Rapid City,  SD Community Foundation, and the South Dakota Arts Council with funds from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts. Special thanks to Bierschbach Equipment and Supply and Dakota Business Center, Carter Taylor.

The Dahl Arts Center is a municipal facility managed by the Rapid City Arts Council and owned by the City of Rapid City.
