BHSU Art Majors Exhibit at the Dahl WHAT: Black Hills State University Fine Art Senior Exhibition WHEN: 04.05.24 – 06.01.24 WHERE: Sen. Stan Adelstein & Lynda K. Clark Gallery | Dahl Arts Center RECEPTION: Friday, May 3 | 5-7pm The Rapid City Arts Council (RCAC) is pleased to present the Black Hills State University Fine Art Senior Exhibition. The show will be in the Sen. Stan Adelstein & Lynda K. Clark Gallery of the Dahl Arts Center and will run from Friday, April 5 through Saturday, June 1. As part of the show, the RCAC will host an artists’ reception on Friday, May 3 from 5-7pm. Works in this exhibition feature BHSU seniors who are graduating either in May or December of 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree or a Bachelor of Science Education Degree in Art-Teaching. The exhibition will feature a variety of mediums, techniques, and concentrations as each student is responsible for creating their visual narratives through their work. Some of these techniques include ceramics, photography, painting, textiles, and screen printing. The class of 2024 Fine Arts and Art Education majors are emerging artists and creative leaders who are excited to exhibit their capstone pieces at the Dahl Arts Center. Desy Schoenewies, professor at BHSU reflects on the artistic talent coming out of BHSU, “Over the years, we have witnessed our students' remarkable growth in creativity, ingenuity, and artistic proficiency. Through our rigorous curriculum, mentorship, and access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, students have been empowered to push the boundaries of their creativity and explore new artistic horizons.” She says, “The BHSU fine art student exhibition stands as a proof to their commitment to their craft and their endless potential as artists.” This exhibit is sponsored by BHSU College of Liberal Arts Fund, Michael Baum and Desy Schoenewies, the BHSU Photography program, and the South Dakota Arts Council with funds from the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism, and the National Endowment for the Arts. ## For More Information: Noah Geiger Rapid City Arts Council Dahl Arts Center 605.394.4101 x2 [email protected] The purpose of the Rapid City Arts Council (RCAC) is to champion the power of art to bring all kinds of people together, making art more accessible, more integral and more inspiring for the communities we serve.
