Final First Friday Art Walk of 2023 
is Going Out With Style!

RAPID CITY, SD – The Rapid City Arts Council announces the Final First Friday Downtown Art Walk of 2023 on Friday, September 1, from 5–8 PM. This recurring community event in Downtown Rapid City started in June and continues on the first Friday of every month through September.
​

The First Friday Art Walk happens throughout Downtown Rapid City. In this self-guided art experience, participants will explore free interactive creative activities at each destination they stop at along the way. From live music to workshops and painting – it’s an event the public will not want to miss.

21 participating businesses, galleries, and cultural venues are now on this month’s Art Walk. They include Abys, Alex Johnson Mercantile, Art Alley, ArtHouse, B Sharp Cut Co, Black Hills Vinyl, Canvas 2 Paint, Celtic Connection, Dakota Drum Co, Dandelion Bouquet, Dahl Arts Center, Elements of South Dakota, Firehouse Brewing, Garbage Tale Vintage, Melissa Wood Art Gallery, Prairie Edge, Pure Fox, Suzie Cappa Art Center, The Coupe, Tusweca Gallery, and Ugly Graffiti.

Each of the 21 destinations will offer interactive activities on September 1. Examples of the special activities include:

  • Black Hills Vinyl | "Play DJ"; Black Hills Disc GolfH Vinyl Disc Dye

  • Dahl Arts Center | Klaire Lockheart Artist Reception; Barbie Dahl Pop-Up by Bob Miller, Emerging Performing Artists Season Kickoff with the Pocket Junkies
  • Elements of South Dakota | Heidi Stefanich Photography
  • Garbage Tale Vintage | Welby June Live Music 
  • Prairie Edge | Artist Jennifer Braig
  • The Coupe | Bodhi Linde Live Music

  • Ugly Graffiti | Community Truck Painting in Art Alley 

First Friday Art Walks is a recurring community event presented by the Rapid City Arts Council and is proudly sponsored by Print Mark-et, Black Hills Vinyl, and Canvas 2 Paint.
