First Fridays Art Walk Returns to Downtown Rapid City June 7th RAPID CITY, SD – It’s Art Walk time! The Rapid City Arts Council (RCAC) announced today the return of Art Walks happening on the first Friday of each month in downtown Rapid City starting Friday, June 7 from 5–8 PM. The following dates include: July 5, August 2, and September 6. Art Walks invite the community to “cultivate their creative side” as attendees explore an array of artistic talent showcased across numerous venues and cultural attractions. From galleries to shops and restaurants, attendees can experience local creativity, connect with local artists, and enjoy opportunities to purchase artwork and local goods. Adding to the experience is a taste of the region through culinary and beverage offerings from local vendors and restaurants. In this self-guided art exploration, the 20 participating venues present local art or an interactive art activity from live music and poetry readings to art creation workshops like painting with local professional artists. "Downtown Arts Walks are not only a great way to meet our local artistic talent but also fosters a sense of community and support our local economy,” said Rapid City Arts Council executive director Jacqui Dietrich, “We invite everyone to join us in celebrating creativity and culture in the heart of Rapid City. It’s a great way to kick off a summer weekend in the Black Hills." Maps with all the Art Walk stops will be available at the Dahl Arts Center and all participating locations on June 7.
