From April 11 to April 27, 2024, the Bruce H Lien Cultural Café and Gallery at the Dahl Arts Center will be transformed into a vibrant showcase of youthful creativity. Join us for the opening reception with the artists on April 11 from 5-7pm. For the exhibit of mixed media delights, the students explore the theme of “circus.” The exhibition is curated by the students, furthering their experience in working with galleries and producing artwork for an audience. RCAC launched the Teen Art Studio in 2023 to provide a dedicated space for middle and high school students with a strong interest in visual arts who want to develop their skills in a creative learning environment. The 20-week program offers students studio space, materials, and professional workshops, and an opportunity to develop their artistic portfolio. It’s a platform for budding artists in Rapid City to cultivate their talents and foster meaningful connections within the art community. Do you know a talented young artist eager to embark on their creative journey? The RCAC will be accepting applications for the 2024/25 Teen Art Studio program, with up to thirty spots available for students in the Rapid City area. Mark your calendars—the application period opens on May 1, 2024, and closes on August 30, 2024. This free program is funded by RCAC’s generous donors.
